Here is a brilliant idea by a local business owner that allows international shoppers to buy products in the US and get deep discounts in shipping. We used the wordpress framework with several custom plugins to provide the functionality needed.
The site is www.ship2myhome.com . It provides a directory of reputable stores in the US that international shoppers can purchase from and get deep discounts in shipping. Our role was to implement the business owner’s idea from concept to completion. A custom control panel was added to wordpress to allow management of customers and their packages , with email and manual verification of user registrations.
We also modified one of our favorite membership plugins (PaidMembershipsPro) to customize the registration process. Another cool feature of the site is it’s Arabic translation, users can choose this version if they wish. The Arabic translation was not automatic but manually translated as the google translator did not make sense so we employed a native speaker to handle that aspect.
